Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Mold Shop, related tooling and inventory.
Trains Production personnel in maintenance and assembly of molds and billet casting tables.


  • Communicates with QA Supervisor concerning consumables.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles molds used in casting of aluminum billet/slabs.
  • Sets up casting tables according to instructions.
  • Cleans and maintains casting tables and replaces defective parts.
  • Assists in solving casting defect problems when casting tooling related
  • Operates material handling equipment and assorted hand and power tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

High school education, or 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    Ability to write simple correspondences. Ability to effectively present information in one-onone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight
    measurements, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
    oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
    standardized situations.
  • Wide variety of routine tasks that involve some choice of action within limits.

While performing normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk,
and use hands frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral
vision, and depth perception to read instruments, operate material handling equipment and
identify plant color code system. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions extreme heat, and vibration.
Also, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise
