Description: The Membership Services Representative is primarily responsible for membership sales, promoting the Chamber, increasing new memberships, and building relationships with current members through our benefits programs. The Membership Services Representative is the friendly administrative ‘face’ of the chamber. Our ideal candidate is an active listener who is organized, self-motivated, confident, and builds relationships easily.
Essential Responsibilities:
• The goal of this position is to increase and drive membership sales, improve the onboarding process, and enhance our member benefits and offers.
• Create and drive ideas for member retention and new member recruitment
• Coordinate program schedules and promotional content with the internal team including executive management, marketing, and office assistant.
• Assist with all membership events including (but not limited to) the monthly membership meetings, annual State of the City and the Installation Gala.
• Schedule and collaborate with the chamber team to develop regular membership events including but not limited to ribbon cuttings and new member visits.
• Investigate and resolve complaints and/or concerns. When faced with complaints, the Member Services Representative works to provide a solution. They interact with internal resources to identify the issue, respond to concerns, and follow-up with a satisfactory resolution in a timely and affective manner.
• Data management: Maintain an accurate sales and membership database, updating the information consistently and removing/deleting inactive records.
• Produce regular reports, both written and verbal, tracking visits, cold calls and results.
• Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and skills:
• Ability to create strategic plans, oversee implementation and report back evaluation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent understanding and commitment to relationship focused customer service.
• Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, customer management software, and analytics
• Ability to problem solve and think critically
• Self-driven with professional demeanor
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation
Other skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a professional environment preferred
• Bilingual is a plus
• Event Planning experience
